Yajurveda 26.2

God, who is our conscience, reveals his holy word, which is the Vedas, to everyone. We should all take inspiration from this mantra, we should also spread this holy word to the people of the world whoever, whatever, wherever they be.

Yathemam vacham kalyanim avadani janebhyah

Translation 1 >

O Lord, may I address this auspicious speech of yours to all the people, intellectuals and administrators, workers and producers of wealth, our kinsmen and the strangers. May I become favourite of the learned ones and of him, who gives liberal guerdon. May such and such wish of mine be fulfilled; may I get affection of so and so.

Translation 2 >

I do hereby address this salutary speech for the benefit of humanity, for the Brahmanas, the Kshatriyas, the Shudras, the Vaishas, the kinsfolk and the men of lowest position in society. Dear may I be to the learned and the guerdon-giver in this world. Fulfilled be this desire of mine. May I achieve my aim.

Translation 3 >

Just as this blessed Word of the Veda I speak for the people, all without exception, Brahmana, Kshatriya, Shudra, Vaishya, master and servant, one’s own and others, so do you too. May I be dear and favourite with the noble divinities and the generous people for the gift of the sacred speech. May this noble aim of mine be fulfilled here in this life. May the others too follow and come my way beyond this life.

Vedas >

The word ‘veda’ actually means the knowledge. The scripture based on the veda is known as the vedas. The vedas are four in number, namely the rigveda, yajurveda, sama veda and atharva veda.
