Brahman is the ancient concept of god found in the vedas. According to the vedic thought, Brahman is the highest principle or the reality of the universe and beyond. 

According to Rigveda 1.1.1 Mantra, Brahman or the god is self effulgent.

What we know is a drop, what we don't know is an ocean

According to the Rigveda Philosophy,

Brahman is the creator of the universe, and is omnipresent or all pervading.
