Meditation in sanskrit means Dhyana. When one goes beyond dhyana or meditation, one attains discriminating knowledge (vivekaja gyana).

What is beyond meditation?
Beyond Dhyana or Meditation, yogi or a meditator goes into a higher level state known as Samadhi.
After attaining Higher level state or Samadhi state, continuous practice leads to much higher stages in samadhi. Some of such higher levels are:
Vicharanugata sampraznatha samadhi, Anandanugata sampraznathasamadhi, and
Dharmamegha Samadhi and so on. When yogi perfects Dharmamegha Samadhi attains “Vivekaja Znana”.

Yogi when performs Samyama – Dharana = concentration, Dhyana = meditation and Samadhi=Spiritual Cognition, on the succession of Manifestation =Evolution and corresponding succession of Kshana = moments, acquires the knowledge of the object of Samyama. This is known as
