What is Brahmand?

“Brahmand” is the Sanskrit word for the universe. In a broader sense, “Brahmand” ( ब्रह्माण्ड) refers to the universe, cosmic order, or existence, and is a subject of scientific and philosophical discussion.

Brahman is a Cosmic order. It is a term from ancient philosophy mostly found in Indian cosmology that refers to the universe as a whole, its structure, and the ultimate reality (Brahman).

Brahmanda refers to the universe or cosmos, a term derived from ancient philosophy and ancient mythology that literally means “Brahma’s egg”, which means egg of the creator or creative force. In this concept, the universe is seen as the “egg” of the creator god Brahma, containing all of existence within it. It is also associated with the idea of the entire universe coming into being from a single cosmic egg that split open.
