The word ‘veda’ means knowledge. Indeed, the Vedas are the fountainhead of the knowledge. Vedas are the source of true Knowledge.

The Vedas are valuable treasure houses of infinite knowledge.

Veda is a Sanskrit word, derived from the root word “vid” Meaning, to know. So the word ‘veda’ means knowledge.

They comprise what is known as Samhita-Mantra Portion only. They are absolutely free from error, and are the authority unto themselves. In other words, they do not stand in need of any other book to uphold their authority.
Just as the Sun or a lamp by its light reveals its own nature as well as that of other objects of the universe, such as earth etc, even so are the Vedas.

The revealed knowledge

By veda we mean the knowledge given by the omnipotent and omniscient lord of the universe at the commencement of the human creation for the harmonius development and guidance of mankind.
As wordly parents give knowledge to their children for their welfare, so God Who is our Divine Father and Mother revealed the Eternal Truths through the Vedas for the well-being of all people.

Veda is the divine knowledge, it is mention in sanskrit mantra -Vedo Narayan sakshaat – which means that ‘the Veda is the god himself’

The Four Vedas are the repository of Knowledge and religious truth and are the words of God.
