Isha Upanishad 3

Those human beings who defy or kill the self, are covered with profound darkness and go to the dark worlds or evil regions.

असुर्या नाम ते लोका अन्धेन तमसाऽऽवृताः।
ताँस्ते प्रेत्याभिगच्छन्ति ये के चात्महनो जनाः॥

Asurya naam te loka andhena tamasavrtah,
tams te pretyabhigacchanti ye ke cha atma hano janah.

Meaning of mantra

This Upanishad mantra affirms the principle of action. What kind of action or deed? Existence of soul or death of the soul?

Decodification of the mantra

1. Those humans, who ruin the nature of the soul, go to a world covered with deep darkness. This concept of action is the theory of action.

2. Destruction of the soul is a negative action.

3. Two types of actions are there – positive action and negative action.

4. Positive action is the way of life of the soul and negative action is the way of destruction of the soul.

5. What is the life of the soul? The way of the growth of the soul is the life of the soul. The way of the growth of the soul is the way of light.

6. Walking on the way of the growth of the soul, communicates enthusiasm in the soul.

7. The Vision of Nonattachment is the way of life of the soul.

8. What is the destruction of the soul? The way of destruction of the soul is the destruction of the soul. The way of destruction of the soul is the way of darkness.

9. When a human walks on the path of destruction of the soul, communicates disheartenment in the soul, and then many times in a day, destruction takes place. The soul is immortal, but violence, falsehood, stealing, unchastity, and attachment – these all cause destruction of the soul. The vision of attachment is the vision of attachment of the soul.

Thoughts of worry and thoughts of fear, destroy the harmony.
